6th Oct - Tobermory back to Loch Creran

Another great morning got all set up to do oil change only to find the pump did not work :-(  So topped up with fuel and headed off.

Nat with Shahids hat :-)))
Sail was fantastic blue skys, wind & no clouds  what more ( heat prehaps)

5th Oct - Loch Clorie to Tobermory

Up earlier to be met buy a glorious morning .

Slight swell had been coming in to the loch over night into the morning, as we left the mooring and head out of the loch. Became very obvious as to why.  A healthy 5 was blowing and raising some short chop to deal with.

First Watch to Shahid

As we got around into the Mull the swell went as did the wind for a while, until we got up to Loch Aline where it picked up and we had a good run up to Tobermory.

The Mull rally was on  - where they shut down the roads for most of the weekend. The Car park by the pontoons  was handed over to the cars to get them ready etc..

All in the best possible taste!

Wander about before Dinner

We had a fantastic meal in café fish -again before retiring to the Mishnish....

11th Aug. - Oban

Suitably recovered after our stay in Tobermory head off with Original plan was for Seil Island but forecast with strong winds forecasted from the NW, changed the plans to Oban that and lighter winds earlier on .  BUT great sail got in to a un official race with another boat which we left behnd after superior tactics to run down the West side of the Mull where both tide and wind are slightly accelerated.

10th August - Tobermory

Could not leave Coll soon enough - strong desire by all not to return with that anchorage. Vote had us going back to Tobermory, for showers .

Could not get in to Café fish - so had wicked chilli made By G - but popped into Mishnish for a few !!  Then nipped back after Dinner for couple more and darts .

9th August - Coll

Headed out north of Canna to outer Hebrides...BUT wind decided against it straight from the West. ON the nose with rough seas to boot.  So was not long before we decided to head to Coll.  Seas were bad cork screwing most of the way - Had to rig a preventer as rolling seas kept the boom swinging across.

Had a group of Porpoises join us - excellent.   Eventually got to Coll where we anchored up. Sea was rolling in however.  Headed up to the hotel for couple of pints but all were knackered.  Which was only added to with the rolling seas at night - much sleep was lost.

Where are we?

Who is he?

Chilled at 35 degrees

8th August - Canna

Got up sharpish and left for Canna via Tobermory for fuel and a few bits.  After Tobermory Motor sailed most of way to Canna , Quite uncomfortable yet wind picked up which helped us in for the last few miles. As the wind was forecasted for 6/7.

Bad news was restaurant was shut no longer in business so little reason to go to shore on a deteriorating evening. Seal came to visit for food .

11th July - Lochaline to Home

Awoke to more fog at the entrance of Lochaline - eventually left at 10 am and fog cleared as we got out in to the Mull. But sadly no wind.

Pam Chilled at the wheel ..look no hands :-)
Water was very flat but quite a few Porpoises around us feeding.

Wednesday 10 July 2013

10th July - Left Coll for Lochaline

Following morning awoke to more fog outside Coll Harbour decided to go for a wander on Coll while it cleared.  Which it did not really do well just enough to see the way out!!!

View over Coll Harbour to the fog bank!!

Eventually left Coll about 11 in to fog which stayed with us to North of Mull

North End of Mull Emerging from the fog

Wind eventually kicked in, sails went up and decided as sailing was so good to not bother with Sunart but just keep going.

Some local Traffic!

Marquee on the water!
When Pam said there was a marquee coming down the Mull on the water I thought she had hit the sauce early :-) how wrong could I be!!!!

Anchored next to a classic .... Wreck
Pulled into Loch Aline - Pontoons were over flowing never seen anything like it, so headed up the loch next to the above, occupied by local seagulls
